Home Alone
Every single day I try to come up with something new for my pooch, Bella, to chew on or play with when I leave her home alone. So, how do we keep our furry friends entertained while we’re at work, running errands or having dinner with friends? As you probably already know, our pets get bored just like we do. Man’s best friend is a social animal and craves being with us versus being home alone. Luckily, there’s three things we can do to make sure our best buddy doesn’t get lonely while we’re away.
Tip #1 is to tire your little guy or girl out. It’s a good idea to take your furry friend on a long walk and engage them in a play session so they are enticed to rest when you leave.
Tip #2 is to leave toys to help your dog discover and entertain themselves while you’re away. It helps them relieve boredom and gives them the variety they need to make their day interesting.
Tip #3 is to have someone you trust stop by and play with your pup. Dogs thrive on human interaction and even a short visit can go a long way when a friend stops by and gives your best buddy some attention. This will also relieve stress and help your dog to remember that they’re an important part of the family and you care enough to have someone check on them.
We all want to do what’s best for our furry friends. Leaving our best buddy behind can actually be fun for them if we plan ahead and make sure being home alone can actually be a good thing.
