As a fellow beagle owner, this story definitely made me feel good. A little lost beagle was brought back to his family. Gil Garcia and his family were reunited with their beloved dog, Bandit, Wednesday at an animal shelter in Carlsbad and shelter officials credit the reunion with the identification microchip implanted in the dog. Garcia told the San Diego Union-Tribune he couldn’t believe it when he got a call that Bandit had been found alive and well, 60 miles away from their home, in Julian. Bandit escaped from his backyard in March after a gate was accidentally left open. A good samaritan picked him up and brought him in to a shelter.
