“Slow Your Bowl”…Dog Bowls to Help Slow Down Eating

I need to work on ”slowing my roll” sometimes.  I’ve been known to inhale down a meal or two.  It’s not healthy, but what can I say, sometimes I’m hungry and it tastes so good.  Just like humans, dogs should not eat too fast as it can cause an array of health problems.  Not to mention, obesity is a huge problem in the pet population.  Oliver is still a puppy, but I have noticed he is starting to scarf it down lately and it worries me.

Thank goodness for the Dog Pause bowl which is designed to slow down our piggy pooches.  It helps reduce dangerous effects from fast eating like choking, vomiting, gas and even life threatening bloat.  The bowl has four separate feeding zones to help dogs from gulping down and act as a means of portion control since each zone is a half cup.  Dog Pause is recommended by vets and even clinically shown to slow down fast eaters by 50% or more.  Starting at $12.95 a bowl, I’m thinking that’s a small price to pay for Oliver’s well being.

I found this is not the only bowl out there to help with our aggressive eaters.  The Brake-Fast bowl runs $14.99 and up while another option is the Eat Better doggie bowl at approximately $19.99.  I’d love to know if these really work, please share your experience if you have tried any of these or other bowls out.
