These Paws Were Made For Walking…Dog Treadmills
Well, the new year is here and it’s time for both my beagle Oliver and I to get back on track with our diet and exercise routine. Luckily we have pretty nice weather year round where I live, so I will be taking him outside as much as possible. Unfortunately, so many dogs are forced indoors this time of year and are in need of a better workout. Little did I know that there is hope yet with the Dog Tread by PetZen. The Dog Tread starts at $499 made for the smaller breeds and goes up to $899 for a 150 pound pooch.
According to some Vetinarians, dog treadmills can be very beneficial for our furry friends. They help provide increased muscle definition, toning, increase life span and can help curb destructive behavior or excess energy often associated with the lack of regular exercise. Just like humans, obesity is on the rise with one in three dogs in the U.S. being overweight. This treadmill seems like a great way to help Fido shed some fat. Although, I do hope people don’t decide to use this as their only means for exercising their pets. I imagine being able to go outside on a walk or run is the highlight of every dog’s day.
